God values singleness. And that’s good because all of us, no matter our current marital status, will be single in the future ages. Over half of us will end our days on this earth as a single person. Interestingly, one of the things that separate Christianity from other faiths is the high esteem given to the single life. Judaism, Islam and of Mormonism all call their followers to marriage. Only Christianity affirms and even encourages their followers to this status.
Nowhere in the Christian Scriptures is this subject covered more thoroughly than in 1 Corinthians 7, which will be our text for this message. In this passage, we will discover three primary benefits that God has for us in singleness.
